2017 Club Christmas Party

 

 

    Hi Campers, Time to announce this years

                       Christmas party.

                            Friday, December 8th 2017

 

 
 Hi Campers, This year we are holding the clubs Christmas Party camp at the Ophir camp ground on the 8th and 9th of December.
This is only going to be a basic bush camp but we have stepped it up a bit.

Most will arrive and set up on Friday 8th, Its up to you if you wish to go out panning or detecting,or even just hang around camp.
Im happy for every one just to cook for themselves Friday night.
I will be setting up the movie screen as i have a gold history documentary for everyone to watch, It even starts off at the Ophir gold fields. Followed by movies for the kids.
Saturday morning will start with a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast and pancakes for those wanting to join in. Donation tin will be out to help cover costs.

Im happy to take people down to the creek for panning lessons if requested or detecting in the area during the day.

For lunch, I will organise a steak and sausage sandwich BBQ, $5 will get you a steak or sausage sandwich and a can of drink.

We will be setting up a large communal roast dinner for Saturday night with donations from everyone to cover the cost.
I will have my lucky dip gold cups on offer and will run a club raffle over the weekend.
Great news, we have a live musician coming to play for us at the camp ground. The guys name is Justin Landers (stage name: None But Ned) He is a Orange local and plays a variety of rock and roll and country rock. We will set up a stage and run power from generators for the show. Unfortunately he is not free so ill be passing the hat around to help cover the costs.
We will also be having a special visit from Santa that night so please bring something small for your kids or partners etc for Santa to hand out on the night.
The standard breakfast of bacon, eggs and pancakes will be on offer Sunday morning as well. Donation to the tin please.
There are no powered sites and no showers at the camp ground but there are flushing toilets.

The camp ground is unsuitable for large vans because of the location but you are welcome to stay in Orange at a caravan park and come out to Ophir to join in the fun. I will be bringing my generator for power as needed.
 I believe the fee for the camp ground is now $10 per camp but im looking into this.
This will be our final camp for the year so it would be great to see many of you there. 
Lets finish off 2017 with a bang and have a great party camp. I hope to see you all there.
